Thanks from the Glen Ellyn Park District

Scott and crew, thanks so much for volunteering to re-stain the wood around the platform tennis courts. Staff really appreciates your group perusing this daunting task. Not only will this help improve the life of the wood, but improve the appearance as well. Thanks for the heads up regarding the rails, Paul will repair these in the near future.

Regards,

Dave Scarmardo

Scott
Thanks for the pics and the e-mail. I guess I did not figure the job was as large as it was either. Your guys just saved us a day or two of work with the Parks Crew. I have not seen it yet, but I heard it looks great. Paul is going to fix the supports.
Please pass on my THANKS to the entire group.

Solid Turnout at the "work bee" event

We had a solid showing of 15 Glen Ellyn residents/platform tennis enthusiasts at our work bee on Saturday 8/15/09

A handful showed up at 9:00AM to get everything organized while most of the workers arrived at 10:00AM to start staining. Embarrassingly, I did not realize how big of a project this was; thus, many stayed and worked until 1:30PM to complete the job. However, we are pleased to report that the wood is stained and looks great. In addition, we fixed a couple of the boards; however, 2 or 3 of the snow boards have bent supports. Maybe Dave or his crew could get them fixed.
